ABOUT US
While most local organizations depend on volunteer workers and charitable support, what distinguishes CFLC from the others is that its bylaws require it to raise funds for the express purpose of supporting not itself, but other charitable efforts in the area.
At the beginning of each performance cycle, a volunteer committee is appointed to solicit and evaluate requests for funds from nonprofit organizations within its service area. The paid
members vote to determine the beneficiary(ies). The Board then invites the benefitting organization(s) to take part in promoting and presenting the show to the extent they are able.
We plan to make CFLC a very visible part of the local skyline by expanding its activities far beyond the Cabaret shows. We seek to join forces with local individuals, businesses and organizations to establish mutual support in the years ahead.
Beneficiary
The 2019 Performance is named "Take it to the limit!" The proceeds from this show will go to Community Home Health & Hospice to help provide charity care and community benefit services to vulnerable individuals.
HISTORY
Cabaret was the product of Longview Junior Service League for over 75 years. It began as a true cabaret: a dinner theatre revue, made up of original skits and music created and performed by local talent. In the 1990s the Service League started engaging outside producers that brought a complete show and professional director. One of those directors was Jaime Donegan, who, in 1997, started his own producing company and has been sharing his talents here ever since.
